The trademark of a Silverbook is its cover. Each Silverbook is crafted according to customer specifications using the traditional skills of the bookbinding trade. You may choose from eight custom features:
Photo Cover.
The photo cover offers you maximum creative scope. Your design covers the entire front page, the spine and the back of your album.
The 11-colour ink jet print guarantees the greatest possible colour range for your cover design. The subsequent silky-glossy lamination makes the cover completely resistant to mechanical influences and moisture.
In depth.
Just so you know, the indent - in contrast to the window - is the same size for all albums: 12 cm × 12 cm.
A slight depression is moulded into the centre of the cover during processing, creating a »bed« for the cover photo. This is then subsequently applied with zero trim to the indent using adhesive.
Custom windows.
Windows automatically direct the gaze towards a particular section of an image requiring highlighting. To give you more design flexibility, we offer three window formats for you to play with. The classic square window in the centre of the cover and windows in portrait or landscape format positioned at the edge.
The size of the windows increases with the size of the album. The advantage of this custom feature is that the cover image is processed behind a layer of material; edges are concealed and protected.
Genuine leatherette.
For this effect we print your image on hard-wearing calendered paper with a textured leather-look surface. One suggestion at this point: please ensure the edges, that is, the turn-over, of your images are light in colour, since pigmentation can fade when tensioning the material.
Albums with a leather-look cover image may use any of the other cover materials for their backs.
And please remember to allow sufficient »padding« around your images, since we need a little extra material to process and fold the edges!
An acrylic glass plate cover.
This custom feature is designed to make your image »come alive«. The uninterrupted acrylic glass surface lends depth and shine. With polished rounded corners and dovetailing smoothly with the cover material, it produces an exceptionally high-end look. Each of the available cover materials may be combined with our full acrylic glass cover.
The canvas cover.
There’s no doubt it’s a looker. We use the type of canvas used by artists for paintings. Once the image has been printed and dried for 24 hours we apply several layers of protective matt varnish to protect it from UV rays, scratches, splashes, etc.
Once again, we’d like to remind you to leave enough space around the edges of your images, if possible marking these areas with a colour fade.
Frame your shot.
Aluminium or acrylic? The decision is yours. Exclusivity is assured: both aluminium and acrylic glass options lend your cover image that special something, for an intriguing first glimpse of the album’s contents.
Aluminium supplies a matt finish and unique feel, while acrylic lends the images high gloss and depth. Depending on the project in question, this difference between the two materials may also be used to predetermine album content... be it glossy wedding coverage or a sophisticated product portfolio.
